Hi all I've been tearing out what's left of my hair for many months on and off, with this one. At this point I'm guessing you're thinking faulty mobo I would be too. Again, exactly the same issues with the replacement board. So at this point I'd just welcome any thoughts on this head-scratcher. I've thought about trying a different brand of z board to see if it's any better, but other than that I'm all out of ideas.

I've never even OC'd it though it's an non-Klet alone de-lidded it I wonder if it's just a duffer though. Maybe I'll see if I can pick up a cheap Coffee Lake i3 to swap out temporarily, for comparison. Apr 26, at PM 4. Apr 26, at PM 5.

Well I picked up a cheap i3 from eBay, so will see what happens when that arrives next weekend.Beyond3D Forum. What does that even means? At first, the system boot into the bios, but it only detected 4 GB of ram out of my 8GB that I had set in dual channel. After that, my system gave 3 long beepsone set after the other in repetition. I made sure I was grounded at all times. I purchased another set of ram to rule out dead ram, which is odd because the g skill ram somewhat worked at first, but both sets gave out 3 long beeps at boot.

With or without ram on the slots, the system gives me 3 long beeps as stated above. I have also tried to boot without the video card to no avail, also giving the same beeps.

I have double checked every power supply connector, reinserting all of them. I can provide a picture of my build upon request. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your time. EDIT: I have removed the motherboard from the case and set onto some cardboard, with only the essential components, graphics card, ram, cpu, cpu cooler, installed, with their respective power cables. I have also checked the cpu for bent pins and there are none, but i cannot see the ones on the socket special motherboard socket?

I even tried to remove the graphics card, with just the cpu, its fan, and ram on board. I still got the 3 long beeps. The mainboard is bad then and you need to rma it. Note that there aren't pins in the socket of the board by the way but just on the cpu it's the other way round on current Intel boards. Okay thanks for your reply. If you hear three short beeps when your computer is turned on, review the troubleshooting options below for help on resolving the issue. Some of the steps below recommend removing physical parts from inside the computer.

While in the computer, be sure you're aware of ESD and its potential hazards. If you've recently added or tried to add additional memory to the computer and have started getting these beeps, remove the new memory you've added to the computer. If the computer works fine after removing the new memory, your memory is either incompatible or defective. Sometimes when the computer is moved, or over time, a memory stick can become loose, causing errors as it's being read.

Try fixing this issue by opening the computerremoving each of the memory sticks, and placing them back into the memory slots. Try to reboot the computer two or more times. Some computers may have difficulties detecting the memory at first. If this works, but you have to reboot the computer several times each time you start the computer, you may still have an incompatible memory stick. If reseating the memory did not resolve the issue, try swapping the location of the memory.

If you have only one stick of memory in the computer, try moving it to another memory slot and then boot the computer. If you have more than one stick of memory, try removing all but one stick of memory and boot the computer. If this does not resolve the issue, remove that stick of memory and try one of the other sticks of memory.

Repeat for each stick of memory in the computer, to check if any one of the memory sticks is causing the problem. If you have access to another computer that uses the same memory, take memory from that computer and install it into your computer.

If another computer's memory works, you know that your computer has bad memory. If another computer's memory doesn't work and it is compatible with your computer, the motherboard or its memory slots are defective.
